went to Lenin Street with several former Red Guards who were sent there to work during the Shangshan Xiaxiang period. They told me the area was a base for Zhude during the civil war. I haven’t found anything written about it in English but it seems unlikely those gentlemen would have been mistaken about something like that. It was a beautiful place. It was interesting that you could only see very few young adults as they were all working in Chongqing City. The little town was filled with children and the elderly. -David
The Daba Mountains run in the general west-northwest to east-southeast direction, along the border between, on the one side (southwest and south) Sichuan and Chongqing, and on the other side (northeast and north) Shaanxi and Hubei. The mountains of Shennongjia are often considered the easternmost section of the Daba Range.
